Barca 3 - 0 Madrid

What a disappointing game! I was expecting 2 of the best attacking teams in the world to have a real go at each other. In the end, only Barca showed up. Real Madrid either forget to come or sent their youth team. After watching the inept performance, many people would be tempted to say that their grandmother can play better and i certainly won;d not doubt the credibility of the statement.

As a neutral fan who loves attacking football, it was a pretty disappointing game. Barca played like god, but they always do. So... it wasn't too much of a surprise. On the other hand, this is probably the worst performance that I have seen from Real Madrid.

This aside, the celebrations after the match was pretty wild. Barca fans simply hate Madrid to the core. It's football team is seen by the locals as the champion of Catalunya's (Greater Barcelona area) struggle towards independence from Spain. El Classico, as the match between these 2 teams are named, played an important role in Catalunya's expression of defiance during Franco's dictatorship. Anyway... the barca fans gathered at La Ramblas, Barcelona's main shopping street, after the match and started the celebrations. all the cars were sounding their horns and flash bombs and firecrackers were trown around. People singing, cheering and dnacing on the streets. Quite fun. Of course, Clifton, Xiao Yu and I joined in the fun. Singing and dancing. Clifton, a bit extra as usual, went in to push the people when they are dancing. I did too. Hee... silly but fun. No pictures sorry. Din bring camara. Overall, not too bad, a fun evening to overcome the disappointment from the match.
